A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY
Its history reaches back to 1892 when it was established by Josef Schreiber’s family.
Since the very beginning Rona utilized cutting edge technology and was a leader in glass production. Rona introduced many technological improvements that were significant for the development of the whole glass industry.
1896: installation of the pantograph decorating machine, first of its kind in Continental Europ.
1956: Implementation of handmade production using the so-called pulled stemware process.
1962: Introduction of the first automated production processes.
1998: Change of glass composition to lead-free crystal – crystalline.
2008: Introduction of a unique laser technology to treated rims of the glassware, resulting in extreme rims strength. The realization of this intention proves to be an important element in the ability to push through the utility glass in gastronomy, air transport and shipping.
2016: Patenting of automatic laser calibration of products. Introduction of automatic quality inspection on automatic lines, which ensures an increase in standardization of quality for the benefit of the customer.
